Walgreens candidates in 2023-2026 describe one short, conversational in-store interview after a scheduling call: about 15-30 minutes with the store manager, the pharmacy manager or a pharmacist, sometimes with a second person taking notes. They were asked about availability (often the main topic), customer service, difficult customers or coworkers, a mistake they made, and for technicians, upset patients and interest in healthcare. Offers usually came within one to two weeks, followed by a drug test and background check.
The main complaints were slow callbacks, including one candidate called months after applying, and interviews where availability decided everything.

Detailed interview experiences
Experience 1: Pharmacy technician, Kirkwood, Missouri (June 2026)
Source: Glassdoor review posted June 28, 2026. Accepted offer, applied online, about two weeks.
Process: A call asking when they were available, then a half-hour interview with the pharmacy manager.
Interview: Comfortable and conversational. Because the candidate had no pharmacy experience, the manager spent time explaining the training process.
Questions: How would you describe yourself? How would you respond to an upset patient?
Takeaway: No experience is not a barrier. Prepare a calm, step-by-step answer for an upset patient and ask about training.
Experience 2: Pharmacy technician, Wheeling, Illinois (June 2026)
Source: Glassdoor review posted June 24, 2026. Rated average; still waiting at the time of posting.
Interview: The pharmacist led the interview and explained the role, expectations and next steps; the store manager was present and took notes. Topics were availability, customer service, teamwork and why they wanted to work in a pharmacy, plus behavioral questions on difficult customers, coworkers and staying organized when busy.
Question listed: Tell me about a time you helped someone, and how did they feel?
Takeaway: Two people may score you. Answer to the pharmacist but keep answers structured enough for note-taking.
Experience 3: Pharmacy technician, Hampton, Virginia (October 2023)
Source: Glassdoor review posted June 2026. Accepted offer.
Process: A one-on-one meeting with the store manager on the position and next steps, then a meeting with the pharmacy operations manager (RXOM) to review pharmacy operations and team duties. The drug test and background check came after.
Question: How do you solve problems? Describe one problem and how you handled it.
Takeaway: Some stores use two short meetings. Treat the RXOM meeting as an interview too.
Experience 4: Pharmacy technician, Wesley Chapel, Florida (2026)
Source: Glassdoor review posted August 25, 2026. Declined offer.
Interview: Straightforward and short. The manager mostly wanted to know which shifts the candidate could work; closing and evening shifts were the openings.

Source: Glassdoor review posted June 1, 2026. No offer, rated easy.
Interview: Introductions, then experience, comfort with learning new skills, and interest in healthcare and Walgreens. The candidate said it mattered to show how and why you are interested in healthcare.

Takeaway: Have a specific reason for healthcare, not only for the job.
Experience 6: Customer service associate (2026)
Source: Glassdoor review posted June 27, 2026. Accepted offer.
Process: A phone call months after applying, with an in-person interview the next day. About 15 minutes with two interviewers.
