HR interview questions
Common Wells Fargo HR questions, sample answer frames, and STAR tips.
How Wells Fargo fresher interviews usually run, campus and off-campus. Patterns shift by year and role, so treat this as a prep map, not a script.
Wells Fargo placement process includes: 1. Online Assessment (90 minutes) - Coding/aptitude questions. 2. Technical Interview Round 1 (60 minutes) - Technical concepts. 3. Technical Interview Round 2 (60 minutes) - Advanced concepts and projects. 4. HR Interview (30 minutes) - Motivation and company fit. Total duration: 2-3 weeks from application to offer.
Eligibility (from student reports): 7.0+ CGPA or 70%.
Fresher package ballpark (from student reports): Analyst: ₹12-20 LPA. Confirm on your offer letter.
| Round | Duration | What they test |
|---|---|---|

| Technical Round 1 | 45-60 min | DSA, OOPs, SQL, Java/C++ |
| Technical Round 2 | 45-60 min | Projects + domain / puzzles (varies) |
| HR | 20-30 min | Motivation, location, background verification |
Consolidated from public student write-ups of Wells Fargo India campus and off-campus hiring for Analyst / Program Associate roles (2022-2025). The reported process is short — one online assessment and two interviews — but the assessment is unusually structured, and it is where most people are cut.
Eligibility and funnel. A 2025 on-campus account reports a 7.5 CGPA cutoff for CS/ENTC and gives concrete funnel numbers for that drive: 150 candidates → 15 after the OA → 8 after the technical round → 4 after the managerial round, with all 4 receiving offers. The pattern most people describe is the same shape: the OA is brutal, the interviews are humane.
Online assessment (SHL / AMCAT, proctored). Reported as four distinct sections, each separately timed, with no backward navigation between questions:
Technical interview (~30 minutes). Resume-led rather than DSA-marathon. Reported asks span simple programming (factorial, swapping two numbers), maths word problems, SQL queries, and — where the resume mentions them — web-stack questions like React and Node, how a React app runs, and state vs props. If it is on your resume, expect to be taken into it.
Managerial round (~45-50 minutes). A deep resume and project pass: why you chose that technology, what edge cases you handled, SQL vs NoSQL, then behavioural ground — motivation for banking technology and career goals.
What the accounts suggest actually matters
Cutoffs, section timings, and funnel sizes differ by campus and year. If your placement email says something different, follow that.
After technical rounds, Wells Fargo usually closes with a short HR / hiring-manager conversation: motivation, location, notice period, and a couple of behavioural stories. Prepare those answers on the dedicated page rather than cramming them into this hub.
