Verizon candidates in 2025-26 describe three different processes. Store candidates take an online assessment, one or two short phone screens and a store manager interview, often with a sell-me-this-phone role-play. Customer service candidates take a longer assessment with data entry and listening tests, then evaluate recorded calls. US engineering candidates report one easy coding round and a hiring manager behavioral, and India campus candidates add an online test with aptitude and AI questions plus a group discussion.
Most store and tech candidates called the questions standard. The frequent complaint is silence after the interview: one store candidate was promised a reply in a week and never got one.
Verizon interview process round by round
| Round | Duration | What it tests |
|---|---|---|
| Online assessment | up to 75 min (care roles) | Personality, situational judgment; data entry and listening for care roles |
| Phone screen | about 20 min | Availability, interest in Verizon, past jobs |
| Store or hiring manager interview | not published | Structured behavioral questions; role-play for sales |
| Technical round (tech roles) | up to 2 hours (one panel) | Easy coding, APIs, OS and hardware basics |
| Offer and background check | varies | Recruiter call |
Verizon interview reports from 2025-26
Each is one candidate’s account, paraphrased.
- Software Engineer, United States (March 2025, Taro, no offer). HR screening, then a technical coding interview where the candidate reversed a linked list in place, then a hiring manager round on teamwork and problem-solving.
- Software Developer, Temple Terrace, FL (April 2025, Taro, offer accepted). One two-hour session with a panel of three. Questions on computer hardware, operating systems and APIs, and one easy problem: remove duplicates from an array. Mostly knowledge questions rather than algorithms.
- Full Stack Development Intern, Irving, TX (April 2025, Taro, no offer). Entirely behavioral, with no coding. Questions about past projects and “tell me about a time” prompts, including a time they had to be flexible. The candidate advised preparing at least five STAR stories.
- UI Developer, Irving, TX (October 2025, Taro, offer accepted). An in-person recruiter fit interview at the Dallas office, then an online live coding round. One question asked them to explain event bubbling.
- Software Development Engineer, Hyderabad (August 2025, Taro, offer accepted). Campus process: online test with DSA, paragraph writing, English, logical reasoning and AI prompting; a group discussion for those who cleared it; an AI prompt-writing round; a technical interview on DSA, web development, projects and DBMS; a basic HR round. One DSA question was dynamic programming.
- SDE 1, Chennai (December 2025, Taro, offer accepted). Group discussion, a technical interview on core concepts and case scenarios with many questions on AI and automation tools (including how to process a dataset for a task), then HR.
Detailed interview experiences
Experience 1: Retail Sales Associate, store interview
Profile: Candidates with retail or food service backgrounds, from Glassdoor reports.
Assessment: An online test in Candidate Home. Some retail candidates describe three parts and call it intense.
Phone screens: One or two calls; one candidate had two of about 20 minutes each before meeting in person.
Store manager interview: A one-on-one with questions such as how to handle a difficult customer, how you would meet the store quota, a time you overcame an objection and a goal you missed. Some stores add a situational role-play that changes by day. One manager read questions from a sheet and wanted to see that the candidate was personable and used Verizon’s products.
Takeaways
- Use Verizon’s service yourself before the interview, or at least know the current plans.
- Bring numbers: sales per week, customers per shift.
- Follow up after 7 days if you hear nothing.
Experience 2: Customer service representative
Profile: Call center applicants, from Glassdoor reports across several years.
Assessment: A personality questionnaire on an agree-disagree scale, then a 60 to 75 minute test of data entry, listening and job skills.
Call evaluation: A later step where candidates listened to recorded calls. One heard 4 calls and answered 2 questions about each, judging how well the representative handled it; another was asked what they thought of the agent’s response.
Interview: Face to face, with questions on why Verizon, an angry customer, and a difficult task with little time. Some candidates had a “sell me something you own” prompt.
Takeaways
- Practice typing and data entry tests before the assessment.
- When judging a recorded call, name what the agent did well before what they missed.
- Timelines ranged from 10 days to over three months.
Experience 3: Software Developer, Temple Terrace, April 2025
Profile: Developer applicant; offer accepted.
Panel: A single two-hour session with three interviewers. Questions moved between computer hardware, operating systems and API design, then one easy LeetCode-style problem: remove duplicates from an array.
Takeaways
- Review OS basics (processes, threads, memory) and REST API design, not only algorithms.
- State the time and space cost of your array solution and ask whether order must be kept.
Experience 4: India campus SDE, Hyderabad, August 2025
Profile: Final-year student in a campus drive; offer accepted.
Online test: DSA, a paragraph-writing section, English, logical reasoning and an AI prompting section.
Group discussion and AI prompt round: Only students who cleared the test took part. A separate round asked candidates to write an AI prompt.
Technical and HR: DSA (including a dynamic programming question), web development, projects and DBMS, then basic HR questions about hobbies and free time.
Takeaways
- Practice writing clear, structured prompts; Verizon India tests it directly.
- Prepare to speak in a group discussion, which filters before the interviews.
