Bank of Baroda Interview Experiences
Overview
Section titled “Overview”These Bank of Baroda interview notes are rewritten from public student posts and prep-site summaries. Your panel can still look different.
Usual flow: Online exam / CBT as per notification → Interview / GD as notified → Document / medical as applicable
Public-sector bank recruitment - official ad is the only reliable pattern source.
What technical rounds look like
Section titled “What technical rounds look like”Banking awareness + role knowledge; specialist officers differ.

What students reported
Section titled “What students reported”- You have to clear sectional cutoffs, not just the total. Candidate accounts of the PO / Baroda Manipal (PGDBF) route are consistent that the online test requires a minimum score in each section and a minimum aggregate before you are called for the psychometric test, GD, and interview. The final merit is a weighted combination of the online test (objective plus descriptive), GD, and interview, scaled by the recruitment board - so a strong exam score does not by itself carry you.
- GD and interview usually happen the same day, in the same room, in front of the same panel. One reported experience describes a 5-member panel, a morning GD and an evening interview slot, and the whole cohort’s process running 3-5 hours depending on batch size. In that candidate’s drive the GD was not an elimination round - everyone who sat the GD went on to interview - but this is not guaranteed and varies by notification.
- GD format reported as open-floor and fast. About 2 minutes to jot points and ~15 minutes of discussion, with no assigned speaking order (the candidate’s phrase was “fish market type”). The topic was a broad, non-technical one - “Unity in Diversity” - rather than a banking-technical prompt.
- The interview follows up on what you already said. Reported questions covered background beyond the resume, prior work experience and your role in that organisation, strengths and weaknesses, work-life balance, and a current-affairs question (post offices and the PDS). Panelists also asked about the points the candidate had raised in the GD - so do not argue a position in the GD you cannot defend an hour later.
