Visa Interview Experiences
Overview
Section titled “Overview”These Visa interview notes are rewritten from public student posts and prep-site summaries. Your panel can still look different.
Usual flow: Online assessment → Technical rounds → HR
Payments network engineering flavour.
What technical rounds look like
Section titled “What technical rounds look like”DSA, distributed systems lite, projects.
What HR rounds look like
Section titled “What HR rounds look like”Fit + location (Bengaluru/Mumbai often discussed).
What students reported
Section titled “What students reported”- The OA is CodeSignal, 70 minutes, 4 questions, and the spread is real. New-grad write-ups describe roughly 1 easy, 2 medium, 1 hard: easy array logic, HashMap/HashSet-based mediums, and one harder DP or greedy problem. Reported problems include finding substrings containing all vowels, removing peaks from an array, and checking grid cells against uniform rows/columns. Candidates say finishing three cleanly is a realistic target; nobody reported clearing all four comfortably.
- The two technical rounds are lopsided in length and flavour. Round 1 runs about 30 minutes and stays on your resume plus fundamentals - one 2025 write-up got asked to walk through the LLM workflow in their project, then pointers, the four OOP pillars, kernel basics, multithreading, and deadlock conditions. Round 2 is the long one (~70 minutes) and turns backend: Spring Boot, JWT auth, caching strategy, designing an LRU cache with complexity analysis, and writing a delivery-system schema with API routes and SQL queries on the spot. Prep for Round 2 like a backend interview, not a DSA interview.
- The lead round is genuinely lighter, but it is not a rubber stamp. Candidates describe ~30 minutes on how you use AI coding tools, a problem-solving or coursework challenge you worked through, and one conceptual question (encryption vs hashing came up). Multiple write-ups say interviewers explicitly cared about thought process over a polished answer.
- Timeline varies a lot by drive. Some on-campus candidates had all three interviews back-to-back on a single day after the OA; others report the full application-to-offer cycle stretching to around four months. Hiring for these new-grad roles is concentrated in Bangalore.
