Synopsys Interview Experiences

These Synopsys interview notes are rewritten from public student posts and prep-site summaries. Your panel can still look different.

Usual flow: Online technical test → Multiple technical interviews → Managerial → HR (varies)

EDA company interviews often mix software DSA with digital-logic and tool/OS depth.

Projects/thesis detailed questions, OOPs implementation, Linux commands if listed, coding (e.g. palindrome linked list), OS, ML if on resume, trees/graphs.

Managerial/HR style rounds on academics and fit; puzzles sometimes (2-jug problem in one GFG account).

Student report 1 - [gfg Synopsys SDE internship]

Section titled “Student report 1 - [gfg Synopsys SDE internship]”

90-min OA (C/C++ pseudo + OOPs pseudo + digital). Then interviews on projects/ML, OOPs, Linux commands, linked-list palindrome; later rounds on deep learning project, sorting, OS; managerial with CNN/academics and 3&5 litre jug puzzle. Selected for 11-month internship.

Student report 2 - [gfg Synopsys on-campus]

Section titled “Student report 2 - [gfg Synopsys on-campus]”

60-Q MCQ written. Interviews: projects, shortest paths/MST, BFS/DFS apps; trees/rotations/ML/OS/OOPs; NP-hard clustering discussion, macros, BST, linked-list loop vs circular.

These notes come from public reports and can differ by campus, year, and role. If your college placement email or the official careers/notification PDF says something different, follow that.

After technical rounds, Synopsys usually closes with a short HR / hiring-manager conversation: motivation, location, notice period, and a couple of behavioural stories. Prepare those answers on the dedicated page rather than cramming them into this hub.
