CGI Interview Experiences

These CGI interview notes are rewritten from public student posts and prep-site summaries. Your panel can still look different.

Usual flow: Online test (aptitude/verbal/coding, sometimes AMCAT) → GD/JAM (some drives) → 1-2 Technical interviews → HR

Classic IT-services pattern (aptitude-heavy OA, resume-driven tech round); one report describes a 4-5 round process for freshers.

OOPs (Object class, collections, stacks/queues, tree traversal, Dijkstra’s, multithreading), SQL basics, resume-project explanation, and sometimes core/domain extras (Linux internals, OS, networking) in a second technical round.

Job role/location fit, family background, motivation for CGI, culture-alignment questions; one interviewer combined technical and HR questions in a single panel.

3 rounds over about a week: online test (aptitude, logical reasoning, English) → technical interview (OOPs concepts, resume project, basic MySQL queries) → HR (job role, job location). Selected; result came within two days.

AMCAT-style OA in 4 modules (quant, verbal, coding - 2 questions on frequency sorting/merge sort, data interpretation) → 85 shortlisted → two technical rounds (Object class/collections/stacks/queues/tree traversal/Dijkstra’s/multithreading in round 1; pattern printing, Trie, Linux internals in round 2) → HR (family background, motivation, culture fit). 16 offers given across a 2-day drive.

These notes come from public reports and can differ by campus, year, and role. If your college placement email or the official careers/notification PDF says something different, follow that.

After technical rounds, CGI usually closes with a short HR / hiring-manager conversation: motivation, location, notice period, and a couple of behavioural stories. Prepare those answers on the dedicated page rather than cramming them into this hub.
